Middle School students from Urban Promise School visited the Anthropologie store in the Brinton Lakes Shopping Center in Glen Mills, PA to learn about visual displays and merchandising. The students were hosted by the store manager and graphic designer who spoke to them about their work.
A scavenger hunt was prepared for students to learn the layout of the store. Next the students were immersed in an artistic endeavor which will become a part of an installation art piece. This art will be on display in the store during the holidays.
Middle School students travel outside of the school building at least once a week to learn about their communnity, jobs, educational opportunities, nature, science and any number of creative possibilities for them to study. Excitement for their studies has increased dramatically as a result.
Thank you to Anthropologie for their partnership with UPS in this creative educational venture. They are a business with high levels of creativity, vision and compassion for the community!

I love the way that the middle school gets to go out every week. I wish I had that in middle school, because it would have made learning much more fun for me…
