Robert Fulghum tells us in his book, “All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten.” Our kindergartener students stood at graduation before their parents, grandparents, teachers and others to tell us this was true. They proudly raised their hands as Ms. Dolan, head of school, read a list Mr. Fulghum had made to see if they too had learned things like sharing, cleaning up your own mess, and to flush. By these standards all the children learned enough, but their teacher Miss. Nancy didn’t stop there.
Leading the kids in scripture, she reflected on all they had learned that God provides them with. God has gifted them through the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). They have to choose to put on the armor of God every day and that will protect them from harm (Ephesians 6:13-17). To top it off, they know that the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Now THAT is an awesome year of learning!
