“Dear UrbanPromise and adoptive family members, I give my sincere thanks and overwhelmed feelings of gratitude to every member of your organization. I pray that all you have extended to my family will return a thousand fold.” — StreetLeader mother
Last summer the family of Robert, one of our new StreetLeaders, and John, a boy in Camp Freedom, lost their Dad, whom they loved, to a heart attack. The grief in their hearts was inscribed on their faces as they walked down the aisle at his funeral last July – Robert’s arm around his little brother’s shoulders.
Their mother sent UrbanPromise her heartfelt note to thank us for standing in the gap these last six month, just as we do for hundreds of families and youth year round. But her note could just as appropriately been sent to each one of our supporters. Our support for her family is possible because of the support of our faithful and sacrificial donors. In this mother’s words, our supporters are “adoptive family members”.
UrbanPromise Wilmington had another remarkable year of growth and achievement. Once again, 100% of our StreetLeader seniors graduated high school and entered college. We saw growth at our schools and camps in both numbers and quality. But perhaps our key measure of success continues to be effectively sharing the love of Christ with children and families like this one. It has been a good year by all measures.
Every life touched, every lesson learned, every aspiration sown and dream fulfilled we share with our partners. On behalf of our youth, families and staff, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for those who have adopted UrbanPromise. As this mother wrote, may your generosity return to your a thousand fold.
Sincerely,
Rob Presetowitz
