We were blessed by God to have a partnership with West End Neighborhood house again this year to have our 2nd UPW Basketball Camp. For 10 weeks forty kids came from our inner city Wilmington neighborhoods and heard about the fruit of God working through our actions. We had 15 volunteers coaching and cheering on kids as they treated each other respectfully through competition. It was refreshing for parents and UPW staff to see the kids doing something they love. The way the kids found purpose in acting godly was an inspiration to people of all ages. Picking each other up, high five after a good shot, listening to correction from an adult or thinking of a teammate before him/her self, these were some of the basic ways we saw love, peace, patience, kindness, self-control and goodness throughout the 10 weeks of basketball camp at UPW. Camp Hope took home the Golden Vase after winning the Championship Game. Hasan Hackett and Laila Jackson were the 1 Timothy 4:8 Leadership award winners for 2014. Congratulations to all participants and volunteers. Thank you West End Neighborhood House.
