Every year at UrbanPromise we hold a thanksgiving banquet for all the families we work alongside on the Monday before Thanksgiving. Last year our 400 guests had the walls of our host church bulging.
The thanksgiving banquet is a highlight for staff and families alike because it is really easy to see the vision of UrbanPromise in flesh.
When you look across the ocean of families, volunteers, and staff it is easy to see the community of Christ. Children and parents building lasting memories and volunteers laying down their wishes to serve.
It takes many hands and gifts to make this evening a success. We need donated food time, energy, and resources.
There is live entertainment provided by every element of UrbanPromise. Children sing and read poetry. Teenagers showed off their music and dance talents. We also celebrate the success of our past StreetLeaders in their college efforts.
Everyone leaves with a sense of fulfillment, joy and thanksgiving at seeing the glory of God in this way.
