25 young people from as far as Uganda and as near as Newark have come to serve at UrbanPromise this summer!
This diverse group is spending 7 weeks teaching, leading, and building relationships with children and their families — all while living in the communities theyʼll serve.
Hereʼs just a taste of what they had to say upon arriving in Wilmington:
“I came to UP with my college during spring break and loved it so much. I was really impacted by all the people here and their love for one another.” – Haset Solomon, Springfield, VA
“This summer I hope to grow in my faith because I know Iʼll have to rely on God so heavily. I expect to gain teaching, travel and life experience and hopefully, with God, impact lives as others impact mine.” – Randi Parrott, Lyons, CO
“Iʼm excited for community living in the staff house and to hear the StreetLeadersʼ stories and pour love on them. I know Iʼll be challenged and stretched.” – Kelly Crider, Vienna, VA
“Iʼm here because I love being around kids and reaching them in any way that God provides. I hope to change a life, and be changed myself. Iʼm excited to meet new people and to see how God can best use me in the kidsʼ lives.” – Ernest Maisiko, Kampala, Uganda
“This is my 7th summer at UP, and I canʼt imagine being anywhere else. I know Iʼll get to see God at work changing lives. Iʼm expecting to be surprised, stretched, blessed, and to get to know God better — and I hope the kids and staff will experience the same. As a camp director, Iʼm looking forward to seeing the staff bond and have fun with the kids and each other.” – Bethany Wolstenholme, Woodbridge, VA
