    Thank you PTO!

    Yesterday morning the Urban Promise School Parent Teacher Organization had a lovely Teacher Appreciation Breakfast for the faculty. They served bagels and jam, bacon and waffles, delicious coffee with flavored creamers and gifts for all of the teachers. All of the morning’s festivities were seasoned with lots of love.     Each month the students and staff of Urban Promise School are delighted as Chef Paul O’Toole of Deerfield visits.  He brings his enthusiasm for cooking and sharing knowledge of healthy foods that engages the children.     Spring Break Groups Lead World Cultures

      This week the students of James Madison University and the College of William & Mary are going into the Urban Promise School classrooms to launch our study of the continent of Europe for our World Culture study project.     Art – Urban Promise School

    The 3rd – 7th graders at Urban Promise School have taken a lesson in creativity from the nomadic people of Ethiopia’s Omo River Valley.  The Surma and Mursi tribes share a taste for body painting and extravagant decorations borrowed from nature. This project was inspired by the book Natural Fashion: Tribal Decorations from Africa by Hans Silverster.
